Cassis B & Boxerin

In the Spring of 2005 Cassis B was commissioned to write the score for the feature film  Die Boxerin (translated into English About A Girl). Cassis B approached Lars Schuy to record her musical compositions in England. Lars had co-produced a couple of Cassis B’s b-blush albums, and they had become friends. Through Lars, Cassis met Herbie Flowers and Claire Lacey. After jamming together, the musicians immediately recognized that they produced a uniquely stirring sound and formed a band, which they call Boxerin.

Their collaboration soon expanded well beyond the original project of creating film music and developed into their new CD flypaperthin, which includes music from Die Boxerin and classical contemporary arrangements. Flypaperthin combines extended renditions of much of the music included in the German movie, while a third of the CD is made up of tunes that developed out of serendipitous meeting of these extraordinary musicians.

The CD is available on itunes, Amazon and other downloadable services worldwide.
